Hi, I’m Noa (pronounced ˈnoɑ and not ˈnoʊə) Handelsman.

 

I’m a linguist and a doctoral student in the mathematical thinking lab in Tel-Aviv University, under Dror Dotan’s supervision.

 

My main topics of interest are language and numerical syntax, and the cognitive mechanisms behind them. I use neuropsychological and experimental methods to study the mental representations of numbers, words, sentences, equations and the connection between them.

Apart from my research, I am also a Hebrew L2 teacher (in Ulpan Bayit), and I firmly believe in making language accessible for those who need it.
